On Thursday, August 15th, Prestige Inhome Care hosted an innovative VR dementia training session by VR Dementia Australia. This session was tailored specifically for our dedicated carers.
The cutting-edge program is designed to enhance dementia care by immersing our team in a realistic virtual environment. The training provided invaluable insights into how to better support and respond to individuals with dementia, while updating crucial communication skills for building trust and confidence.
Learning and Employee Experience Co-ordinator, Sarah said, “Our carers were highly engaged, and their positive feedback highlighted the immediate benefits of the program. This VR training not only boosted their confidence but also reinforced their ability to meet the needs of those they care for, ensuring they feel even more empowered to provide exceptional service.”
This year, we successfully hosted two workshops and three immersive VR sessions—two in Moorabbin and one in Geelong. We’re excited to announce that more VR training sessions are to come in the future.
Training Feedback
“The session was very informative, and really enforces the knowledge I already have, but it gave me extra insight into ways I can improve on to my skills.”

“I attendant the VR Dementia course. It was very, very informative stuff that I already knew and understand about, but it was very nice little extra but personalised activity, and I recommend it to everybody. It was well done.”
— Maria
“The session was very informative, very engaging and personable. It allows people to explore their own hands-on approaches and share others perspectives on how to address things. I highly recommend this course.”
