Meet Kulani, your Workplace Health and Safety Advisor

We love welcoming new members to our Prestige Inhome Care family.

Kulani Perera has recently joined the Prestige family as our Workplace Health and Safety Advisor. She has come to her new role dedicated to ensuring Prestige is a safe place to work.

How can you help care staff?  Why might they need to contact you?

You might contact me to notify me of any risks, hazards or general unsafe working environments you might encounter. I can also help you with any workplace injuries and clarifying Prestige’s WHS policies and procedures.

What are you most looking forward to about working with Prestige?

I’m most looking forward to implementing proactive risk management procedures rather than manage hazards retroactively. No one should have to go to work fearing an injury.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

I dreamt of working in art – nothing more specific. But then in uni I loved studying physiological sciences which lead me down the path to workplace health and safety.

What do you like to do to chill out?

Nothing is better than cozying up with my husband, baby and puppy on the couch with a good movie and snacks.

How do you relax?

I love to go on walks with my family, the fresh air does wonders.

What are your career goals at Prestige?

Make sure people feel safe in their workspace and to proactively minimise risks and hazards. I also aim to create a culture around safety and embed safety practices into the day-to-day work.
